Neck Liposuction removes excess fat to give your face a new look. A firm neck will give you a new youthful appearance.

Procedure: Liposuction is performed by making a few small incisions in the neck. A cannula, a surgical tube, is attached to a vacuum pump. The cannula is inserted and the excess fat is suctioned while the cannula is moved around under the skin. Another technique used is ultrasonic assisted lipolasty. This technique liquefies the fat before it is removed, making the procedure more efficient. The procedure takes about 1 hour to perform, and usually local anesthetic is administered. This procedure is normally done as an outpatient procedure. This can also be done with Face lifts.

Post-op: You may resume normal activities after 24 hours. Some patients return to work after 1 week depending on the amount of treatment to their neck. You may experience stiffness, soreness, pain, burning, swelling, bleeding, and temporary numbness for a few days. You will need to wear a support garment on your neck for 1-3 weeks following surgery. Some patients experience dimpling, lumpiness, numbness, scarring, discoloration, or sagging skin. There is a possibility of burns with the ultrasonic procedure. Also, blood clots may form, infections, excessive fluid loss, shock, fluid build up in lungs, and anesthetic toxicity.
